■BARKING took the lead but could not hold it in a match that will not live long in the memory.
Kiernan Hughes-Mason gave them the lead, prodding the ball home after his initial effort was saved.
The lead lasted three minutes as George Lutaaya bundled the ball home from a cross and Hertford took the lead five minutes into the second half when Lutaaya was fouled in the box. Charlie Cole saw his initial penalty saved but the ball bounced back to give him an easy tap-in.
Barking pushed but could not find an equaliser.
