■ TWO GOALS after the break made the difference for Colne.
Chris Almond for Cables and Alex Curran for Colne had brought the best out of the respective keepers either side of half time, but the first half proved instantly forgettable as both sides struggled for chances.
The second half proved better as Colne opened the scoring on 48 minutes, full back Lee Pugh sweeping the ball home from a corner.
The game was sealed on 74 minutes when Curran was played through, neatly sidestepped keeper Ben Barnes and finished calmly.
