■PAULTON started 2018 with a well-earned point. Rovers started well, with Dale Evans’ free-kick just going wide.
Midway through the first half, Winchester had two chances. The first, from Dan Williamson, went wide and Pat Cox’s effort hit the side netting.
Winchester eventually took the lead, with Oli Bailey setting up Cox to score past Denis Begovic.
The second half began with Josh Morgan-Williams scoring into the bottom left hand corner and Liam Monelle doubling their lead 10 minutes later with a shot set up by Jack Ball.
