BIGGLESWADE Town prevailed in the local derby with more ease than the scoreline suggested.
In doing so, they completed the double over their neighbours and put a dent in Hitchin’s play-off hopes.
The hosts had a penalty shout after ten minutes when Jonny McNamara’s shot bobbled in the six-yard box and appeared to strike a hand.
On 21 minutes, Hitchin front man Elliot Bailey found himself clear on goal only to be denied by Sam Donkin.
