ALMOND AT THE DOUBLE

A FIRST-HALF double from Prescot Cables’ Chris Almond was enough to see off a resilient Ramsbottom side at Volair Park.
Prescot were forced to dig deep to take all three points as Ramsbottom refused to lie down and continued to press for an equaliser to take something out of the game.
The opening goal came after just three minutes from the penalty spot through the impressive Almond.
And he doubled the advantage just short of the half hour with a brilliant header from a pinpoint James Edgar cross.
