BRIGHTLINGSEA Regent started on the front foot and deserved the lead after just two minutes, when Aaron Condon crossed for Louie Newland but his effort was well saved.
Despite their fast start, Brightlingsea’s electric opening to the game started to unravel as they gave the visitors too much time and space to get back into the game.
They, however, did take the lead after 12 minutes as a Jake Turner free-kick met the head of Billy Hunt to convert into the bottom corner of the net.
