■LEEK TOWN turned in a workmanlike performance to overcome fellow play-off hopefuls Stamford by the only goal of the game at Harrison Park on Saturday.
Things were fairly even during the opening half, although Leek created the better of the chances but they struggled to break down a stubborn Stamford side.
The home side began the second half where they left the first – on the attack, and they took the lead midway through the half as they finally got things right.
