■LOWESTOFT edged further away from the drop zone with a crucial win at Imber Court, thanks to Armani Schaar’s first-half goal and Elvijs Putnins’ first-half penalty save.
Lowestoft almost took the lead on 15 minutes but Renei Batlokwa was denied by a sharp save from Luke Williams.
However, the Met keeper was at fault for the only goal of the game three minutes later.
Schaar chased down a long, hopeful pass and Williams rushed from his goal, only to miss the ball and leave Schaar to tap it into the empty net.
