■CANVEY Island claimed all three points.
Canvey took the leads on 27 minutes when Steve Sheehan was bundled over by Hertford captain Ollie Sharman. Goalkeeper Jayden Purdue saved Martin Tuohy’s penalty but was helpless to stop Tuohy scoring the rebound.
The Gulls were awarded another penalty ten minutes later. Martin Tuohy stepped up once again despite his earlier miss and this time found the bottom corner.
In stoppage time Ricky Light fired across goal to put Hertford in with a shout but it proved too little too late.
