HORNCHURCH received the championship trophy at an emotional Bridge Avenue after a sixth straight win under acting manager Colin McBride. Connor Hogan had headed Hornchurch ahead on 11 minutes but Aveley recovered well and Garrett Kelly headed the Millers level with 20 minutes to go.
Aveley were resolute and goalkeeper Rhys Madden made an excellent save to deny George Purcell, threatening to spoil the home side’s party.
