Bury were awarded a penalty on 41 minutes when Ollie Hughes was bundled over in the box and Cemal Ramadan made no mistake.
After the break Haringey thought they had got an early goal when a long throw beat everyone including the Bury goalkeeper, but the effort was disallowed.
The momentum was with Haringey and on 67 minutes they got the winner with a slick attack as Ralston Gabriel scored with a well-taken effort.
