AT THE start of the season it would be fair to say few tipped Beaconsfield Town for promotion.
The club endured a difficult pre-season as new boss Gary Meakin worked hard to build a fresh squad that could improve on the previous year’s 16th-placed finish.
“It was probably one of the hardest pre-seasons I have ever had,” admits Meakin.
“I think we lost every friendly bar one, and at the beginning of the campaign we were wondering if the squad had enough to mount a real challenge in the league.”
