BASINGSTOKE breezed past Frome in this match, and after taking a 3-0 lead at half-time, they totally controlled the second half and cancelled out Frome’s consolation goal within 45 seconds for victory.
Frome were caught cold in the eighth minute as Basingstoke’s Sam Smart laid a perfect low ball into the path of Sam Argent to sweep home and only a great James Corey save prevented a second. But it duly arrived in the 18th as Shane Hollamby rose to head a corner home, and Dean Stow then scored from the spot in the 45th.
