AARON Opuku netted the only goal of the game to give Carlton victory over Gresley.
Opuku turned in the box on 32 minutes and curled a shot eeking with finesse around home keeper Jack Livesey and into the far corner, which proved to be the difference between the two sides.
Gresley tried manfully to find a way back into the game, but chances were few and far between for both outfits on the day.
The hosts did find the net through Kieran O’Connell but a linesman’s flag ended the celebrations and the points went back to Carlton.
