BARNET SENT BACK DOWN TO EARTH BY SUPER HEED

GATESHEAD, with a goal in each half, deserved their victory at The Hive with Barnet failing to build on the momentum of two fine consecutive away victories at Hartlepool and Bristol Rovers.
Both sides took time to settle in a subdued atmosphere with a fixture that attracted Barnet’s first sub-1,000 attendance of the season.
The Heed created the first chance of note in the 16th minute when lax defending allowed Tom White to cross to the far post where Tom Foden’s header was kept out by an excellent save from Mark Cousins.
