SOUTH Shields’ title bid took another hit as they were forced to accept a point at home to Buxton. Lee Mason opened the scoring early in the game for the Mariners, a lead they were unable to build on.
Nico De Girolamo headed home the leveller for a Buxton side hard to beat on the road. Both goals came inside the opening 20 minutes, neither side able to conjure up a winner.
Two superb injury time saves from Theo Roberts ensured play-off hopefuls Buxton left with a point.
