ROYALS’ UNHAPPY RETURN

SUTTON Coldfield returned to the Northern Premier League after just one season in the Southern Premier but suffered defeat to Spalding.
Spalding had all the early attacking and Sutton’s defence were at sixes and sevens trying to cope with the lively Jamie Jackson.
It was Jackson who gave United the lead on 19 minutes when the defence stood waiting for the ball to go out and he nipped in, being brought down by Kye Knight and then converting from the spot.
