PIQUE IN BIZARRE BID FOR COUNTY

BARCELONA star Gerard Pique was close to buying National League club Notts County this summer, according to reports this week.
The Athletic say Pique, who has won eight La Liga titles and three European Cups with Barca, was attracted by the rich history of the world’s oldest professional club, and wanted to transform Meadow Lane into a ‘finishing school for homegrown talent’, much like La Masia, Barcelona’s renowned academy.
