FORMER Blyth boss Alun Armstrong enjoyed a triumphant return to Croft Park.
Armstrong left Blyth in the summer on bad terms after leading them to the sixth tier play-offs for the first time and two first-half goals gave a resurgent Darlington a fourth league win on the spin.
A 14th league defeat sees Blyth enter 2020 second-bottom, six points from safety.
