SOUTH Shields say they are in advanced discussions over a deal for the naming rights of Mariners Park - to help them pay a whopping six-figure legal costs bill.
The NPL Premier Division high-fliers have been landed with the debt after being told they must pay the FA’s share of the costs from their failed appeal against a decision to expunge the season, thus denying them promotion.
The Mariners have sought a ground naming rights partner for a number of years but have intensified their search in recent weeks.
