BURY AFC’s first ever competitive game ended in defeat as West Didsbury & Chorlton progressed to the second round of the FA Vase thanks to goals from skipper Sam Heathcote and substitute Ben Elliott. Greg Daniels’ late penalty proved a mere consolation for the visitors.
In a first half in which Bury enjoyed the majority of the possession and goal opportunities it was the home side who went in at the break a goal to the good.
