A LATE penalty winner from Kyle Sambor gave Atherton Collieries the points.
Atherton had advantage of the strong breeze in the first half, but it was Grantham who pushed forward in the opening minutes. Atherton came into the game forcing a number of corners.
Jordan Darr had a chance on 20 minutes but fired over from ten yards and two minutes later Rick Smith saw his effort from close range saved by Jan Budtz.
Grantham had a chance on 24 minutes when Worsfold turned in the box, but his shot was blocked, and Ward headed the resultant corner over.
