SUPER-SUB Igli Metalia rescued a point for Tilbury as they thwarted Aveley’s hopes of an away win.
Aveley took the lead early on, when the prolific Alex Akrofi gave them the lead after nine minutes.
The visitors looked the more dominant throughout the first half, but were unable to extend their advantage any further. The second half saw a more settled Tilbury side grow into the game with Chris Millar striking a post from close range. It took until the 81st minute for Tilbury to finally equalise thanks to the head of Metalia.
