TONBRIDGE ANGELS edged this match thanks to Lewis Gard’s 83rd-minute penalty. The award was shrouded in mystery as after a fruitless corner there were no appeals from the visitors and home players stood bemused as referee Neil Pratt pointed to the spot with the best guess being for a push in the area.
Depleted Chippenham, who were without five regulars and forced to field two 18-year-olds in defence, had been behind for most of the match but fought valiantly to level on 74 minutes through Matt McClure.
