■ A fifirst-half goal by George Boyd was enough to earn Wythenshawe a win at Avro. The home side started strongly, and Town keeper Greg Hall made two good saves to prevent them from edging in front.
The decisive moment of the match arrived after 15 minutes when a strong run by Ajayi set up Boyd, who pounced on the loose ball to sweep home from just inside the area.
