TWO goals from captain Jake Goodman gave Phoenix Sports a thoroughly deserved victory over a lacklustre Herne Bay.
Akheem Belford lobbed Bay keeper Harley Earle before Liam Friend denied the goal, but from the following corner a Jake Goodman power header gave Phoenix the lead after half an hour.
Richard Pingling squandered a chance to double the lead after the break, hitting the bar with his spot kick.
