DOWLING GETS HAPPY HOSTS OFF THE BOTTOM

HEDNESFORD Town were beaten twice in five days, this time at Morpeth to conclude a rough week.
The Pitmen, who are favoured by many to win the Northern Premier League’s top division, were beaten on the road at Prescot Cables on Tuesday night and William Dowling’s second-half strike compounded their pain.
Morpeth had the better of the opening chances with Jonathan Edwards seeing his header from a corner clear the crossbar.
