The National League rolls straight into 2026 this Saturday with a feast of fixtures across the division.

Unfortunately, the snowy and icy weather hitting the UK has already claimed a couple of fixtures, with the top-two clash between York City and Boreham Wood postponed, as well as Scunthorpe United’s meeting with Sutton United.

However, there is still plenty to whet the appetite this weekend, with Forest Green Rovers hosting FC Halifax Town, Rochdale taking on Brackley Town and a host of other intriguing clashes.

Here are the standout clashes to kick-start 2026 – all live on DAZN.

Carlisle United vs Wealdstone

Kick-off at 3pm GMT on Saturday, January 3 2026

Carlisle United will be out to make it three National League wins in a row on Saturday when they host Wealdstone at Brunton Park.

Mark Hughes’ Cumbrians enjoyed a profitable Christmas after winning 3-0 at Gateshead on Boxing Day before beating Morecambe 1-0 at home four days later.

Now they face a Wealdstone side who lie 12th following a poor run of form.

Sam Cox’s men have not won a league game since beating Braintree Town 1-0 at home on November 8 and they certainly had a festive period to forget.

Wealdstone were hammered 4-0 at home by high-flying Boreham Wood on Boxing Day before losing 4-1 at Aldershot Town four days later.

Rochdale vs Brackley Town

Kick-off at 3pm GMT on Saturday, January 3 2026

With the top two out of action, there’s an opportunity for someone to take top spot, and it’s Rochdale who would be in prime position to retake the lead in the National League.

Dale suffered a surprising home defeat to play-off chasing Hartlepool United in midweek, bringing a halt to their winning run and knocking Jim McNulty’s side off the top.

They’ll look to bounce back from that setback on Saturday as they welcome a Brackley side, who have shown signs of improvement over the festive period.

Gavin Cowan’s side have recorded back-to-back wins over Forest Green and Boston United, to see them get some breathing room at the other end of the table and won’t be fazed by visiting the Wham Stadium in Accrington Stanley.

Forest Green Rovers vs FC Halifax Town

Kick-off at 3pm GMT on Saturday, January 3 2026

Forest Green are another side in the mix at the top, but haven’t enjoyed the best Christmas week, where they’ve lost ground on the teams above them.

Robbie Savage’s side suffered defeat to Brackley Town before dropping more points in the draw with Truro City in midweek – two games they would have expected to win.

They now welcome a Halifax team to the New Lawn Stadium, who, on paper, provide an even bigger test, with them just outside the top seven.

In contrast, Adam Lakeland’s men won both their games over Christmas and could move closer to the play-off places if they win and other results go their way.

Southend United vs Truro City

Kick-off at 3pm GMT on Saturday, January 3 2026

Play-off chasers Southend United host a Truro side battling at the bottom end of the table.

Southend made it back-to-back wins on Tuesday with a 1-0 victory over Sutton, to keep up the pace in the top seven as we head into the second half of the season.

Kevin Maher’s team have their sights set on a return to Wembley in 2026 after their heartbreaking loss in the play-off final last term.

They’ll be red-hot favourites as they welcome Truro to Essex, who are currently 23rd in the table, with just goal difference keeping them off the bottom.

However, they have enjoyed an encouraging festive period, after beating Yeovil Town on Boxing Day and then coming away with a point away at Forest Green.

Yeovil Town vs Braintree Town

Kick-off at 5.30pm GMT on Saturday, January 3 2026

The day’s action finishes with teatime action from Huish Park as two teams sitting in the bottom half of the table clash.

Only four points separate Yeovil and Braintree, with both looking to continue to move away from the danger zone at the wrong end of the league.

The home side will look to build on the 1-1 draw with Eastleigh, but are now winless in their last four games, while Braintree are on the opposite trajectory.

Steve Pitt’s men beat Woking on Tuesday and haven’t conceded a goal in their last two outings.
