On this week’s edition of the Non-League Goalmouth, Editor at Large Matt Badcock and Executive Editor Jon Couch are joined by the Non-League Paper’s Midlands correspondent, Andy Mitchell, to talk through all the latest in non-league!
In arguably the greatest-ever FA Cup upset, National League North side Macclesfield triumphed over Premier League outfit Crystal Palace, beating the cup holders 2-1 in front of a sold-out crowd at the Leasing.com Stadium to book their place in the fourth round, where another mouth-watering tie against Brentford awaits the Silkmen.
We give our reaction to the other Non-League clubs who were in action in the competition, as Boreham Wood and Weston-super-Mare’s FA Cup runs came to an end.
Elsewhere, we discuss the latest Isuzu FA Trophy fourth round proper results, with Isthmian League side Chatham Town knocking out Carlisle United, and we preview the FA Vase fourth round proper fixtures taking place this weekend.
Boston United also made a managerial change at the weekend, welcoming Paul Hurst back to the Pilgrims’ dugout 15 years after his exit following the departure of Graham Coughlan at the weekend.
