Charlie Wyke is back in action for Carlisle United after a pain-staking 16-month lay-off

Four years ago, Charlie Wyke suffered a heart-attack during a training session for Wigan Athletic and died for four minutes.

But that traumatic experience was nothing compared to the physical and mental anguish the 33-year-old has endured over the last 16 months.
In October 2024, shortly after coming on as a substitute for Carlisle United in a League Two match against Cheltenham Town, Wyke was felled by a heavy tackle.
