Bernard Morley received a nice pick-me-up message from Anthony Johnson on Wednesday morning after Radcliffe had fallen to defeat against Southport the night before.
Performance-wise, Boro boss Morley was pleased with his side, but the National League North is unforgiving and results don’t always follow.
Of course, the duo have spent the last 17 years debriefing wins and losses in person as joint-managers.
But a fortnight ago, Johnson decided he just had to scratch his Bury FC itch and take charge of his boyhood club.
