Luke McCormick’s late double put the seal on a dominant Yeovil Town display as Gateshead were well beaten at Huish Park.
Stephen Walker gave the Glovers the perfect start with a venomous strike after two minutes, before skipper McCormick struck on 81 minutes and again in stoppage time.
Billy Rowley’s side could have been out of sight long before then, but Gateshead goalkeeper Pete Jameson produced a string of saves to keep his team in the contest.
