Step 5 void is a Western problem spot

MARK Harris (NLP, July 26) was talking about the time it takes to produce fixture lists.
I am not so concerned about this, but more the travel distances in Step 5 for many clubs.
The six-tier structure is a marvel, but it has created a bit of a strait jacket for clubs who are now tied into annual promotion and relegation, bringing in teams that are often quite some distance away.
