OVER a year ago, convicted fraudster Joseph Cala was refused permission to buy Gateshead Football Club.
So he got an accomplice to pose as a buyer/facade, and once purchased, single-handedly ran the football club into the ground. The National League and The FA knew from the start what was going on.
They allowed Cala a full season to ruin the club, and last Saturday delivered their punishment.
Did they censure the guilty parties - Cala, Varghese, the National League and the FA? Not a chance!
