KEM KEMAL has quit as manager of Evo-Stik League Southern Central side Ware, despite the club being in the play-off places.
Kemal decided to step down after a bizarrely action packed game at Wodson Park which Ware lost 1-0 to visiting Arlesey Town.
Kieran Bishop missed two penalties for Ware and despite Arlesey playing the whole second half with ten men, and missing a spot kick themselves, they nicked the win in controversial circumstances.
An 87th minute drop ball was played towards the Ware goal by Arlesey's Nathan Olukanmi and keeper Jack Smith let the ball trickle into the net, expecting a goal kick to be given. That wasn't to be, however, as the visitors claimed an unlikely victory.
Kemal announced his decision to resign after the game and said: “I felt this was the best time for myself and the club to try something new.
“The club sits in a very healthy position on and off of the field, with some fantastic people behind the scenes doing the jobs that go unnoticed. Non-League football is all about volunteers, passion, hard work and sacrifices.
“Thank you to Sean Mynott and Bill Spink who were the two club secretaries I worked under. I would like to thank Inanc Elitok for giving me the chance and the opportunity to work with him at Ware FC. We have had an amazing two years. I hope that one day in the future we can work together again.
“I would like to say special thank you to Kevin Kuhn for his enthusiasm and his love for Ware FC. Ware FC have a great coach in the making in their loyal kit man.
“I wish the new manager all the best and I will be in the stands supporting him and the team when I am in London.
“Lastly and most importantly I would like to thank my cousin Tolga Huseyin, I wouldn't have come this far without him and I thank him for the doors he opened for me. I am sure once Tolga is rested and refreshed he will be back in football, maybe even back at Ware FC.”
