Folkestone Invicta reduce admission for crucial Good Friday fixture

are hoping for a bumper crowd of over 1,000 for their Good Friday game against Walton & Hersham with a win possibly clinching them the Ryman South title.

Invicta are champions in all but name, currently sitting 16 points clear of second place with only seven games left to play.

Unlike the rest of the division, Folkestone are playing on Good Friday (March 25) and a victory over struggling Walton & Hersham could win them promotion.

To entice a bumper crowd to the Fullicks Stadium, Invicta have reduced admission and will also be giving away easter eggs to children in attendance.

Director Cliff Egan said: “To try and ensure that we ‘Fill The Fullicks' the club has decided to reduce the cost of entry on the gate to just £5 for adults with concessions (senior citizens and U18s) at just £3.

“We will also be giving away 100 easter eggs to the first 100 children who go and claim their easter goody in the club shop.”

He added: “Ours will be one of the only games taking place in the county on Good Friday, and with Gillingham's game against Walsall at Priestfield now postponed maybe some Gills fans would like to come and get their Easter fix at the Fullicks.

“Hopefully they could join us in celebrating the winning of the title – let's hope that both teams will be playing in a higher division next season.

“Folkestone Invicta would love to smash the 1,000 attendance mark for what could prove an historic day at Cheriton Road on Good Friday so why not come along to The Fullicks and hopefully join in the celebrations.”
