SMASH-AND-GRAB Hemel Hempstead took two of their few chances and confidently defended their lead against a frustrated Eastbourne side, who worked hard without a cutting edge.
The visitors led on eight-minutes, Charlie Sheringham, played in down the left channel, picking his spot in the bottom corner across keeper Bailey Vose.
Borough spurned chances, Charlie Harris heading Harley Willard’s cross wide and Lloyd Dawes also shooting off target.
