HELPING HAND: But it’s looking grim for Thamesmead Town

HOW sad it was to see Thamesmead Town fold this week. It just goes to show how difficult it is to run a football club at this level these days.
Due to falling attendances, Mead made just £11 from their two home games once officials were paid. There’s no wonder that the chairman, suffering from ill health himself, had no choice but to pull the plug.
