Experienced boss Simon Lane believes 11 hours of talks was a small price to pay to land the Gosport Borough job.
Lane has previously led the likes of Kingstonian, Wingate & Finchley, Westfield and, latterly, Hayes & Yeading United in an extensive coaching and managerial career.
Yet his juices were well and truly flowing when the opportunity came up to take charge at Southern Premier South outfit Boro. Previous boss Glenn Howes left in mid-April and the Hampshire club eventually finished in eighth place.
