Non League Goalmouth: How good is the FA Cup first round draw? Stand-out ties & potential shocks

On this week’s edition of the Non-League Goalmouth, Editor at Large Matt Badcock and Executive Editor Jon Couch are joined by Non-League Show legend Tim Fuell to discuss the latest in Non-League football.

It’s been a huge week with the FA Cup first round proper draw!

The Goalmouth team go over all the big draws – from Oxford City v Leicester City to Wimborne Town hosting Crawley Town and Cray Wanderers taking on Stockport County, there’s plenty to chat through.

Tim also explains why Plymouth Parkway v Berkhamsted is also one of the ties of the first round with so much at stake for the winners.

The guys talk about how much work hosting Non-League clubs will have to put in over the coming weeks and why it’s important to remember a number of them are run by volunteers.

It comes after an action-packed midweek of replays where Stafford Rangers stunned Gateshead and Worcester City won it late against Chorley.

And a special shout-out for Tadley Calleva, who ran Aldershot Town close.

Tim also discusses the article he is writing for this Sunday’s Non-League Paper on overseas investors in Non-League. The positives it can bring, but also a word of caution.
