NIALL MAHER’S first-half strike earned FC Halifax Town the points from a rather dour affair and sent the Shaymen up to fifth in the table.
A game of persistent fouls and stoppages never really got going but Maher’s strike – his second goal of the season – ensured it’s now six league games without a win for the north London side.
“It wasn’t one for the neutrals,” said Halifax boss Pete Wild. “They had a plan to frustrate us, and it was a scrappy game. We had to get over the line and we have don’t that.”
