IAN HERRING says he leaves Hungerford Town with a heavy heart but proud of his time in the dug-out.
The Crusaders have been under heavy financial pressures in recent seasons but boss Herring guided them to an unlikely survival last term against all the odds.
With the rest of this campaign cancelled the club have confirmed they will be staying at Step 2 whenever that returns.
Herring put forward a plan for next season but the board didn’t feel they wanted to run with it and he chose to resign.
