Spartans bounce after Cowley strike

BLYTH SPARTANS bounced back from midweek heartbreak at Scarborough to defeat Hereford at Croft Park and continue their strong start to the season.
Michael Liddle’s goal was the difference after Charlie Aitken’s deflected effort had given Blyth the lead, before Jason Cowley’s long-range strike brought the visitors level just before half-time.
Blyth were looking to respond positively to Tuesday’s late defeat in Yorkshire and, after a slow first half-hour that saw JJ Hooper off injured, found the opening goal.
