WINCHESTER’S last mathematical hopes of reaching the play-offs were extinguished when they went down 3-0 to Barnstaple.
The visitors took the lead in the third minute when a cross from Craig Allen was deflected past his own goalkeeper by Jamie Ford.
Winchester came close on a couple of occasions at the start of the second half, but Barnstaple came more into the game as the half progressed with Jack Jenkins and Liam Gregory coming close.
