■IT was honours even between the play-off hopefuls at Station Approach. Hitchin’s first chance came on 22 minutes when Robbie Burn’s shot was easily saved by Jack Harding while Banbury’s opening chance came when Jack Self shot just wide.
On 38 minutes Connor McDonagh was put through on goal but his shot was stopped by a Hitchin defender.
On 44 minutes Banbury took the lead when Zac McEachran was put in on the right wing before firing home for ten yards.
In the second half McEachran went through on goal but his shot lacked power.
