TAUNTON produced an assured display to kick off the new season, as they held off Cirencester to claim an away win.
Striker Lewis Powell finished off a good team move in the 21st minute to give them the lead and they pressed for a second as Alan Griffin fired wide.
Powell was again looking a threat and he nearly doubled the Peacock’s lead but his shot just whistled wide.
Ben Whitehead blasted just over as Ciren looked to draw level before half-time, but the away side then found their second through Owen Parish.
