■BARWELL shocked league leaders Shaw Lane with a 1-0 victory on Non-League Day.
The game got off to a slow start, with Barwell’s Tom Bates having the first chance on 15 minutes.
Midway through the first half, Jake Heath’s freekick crashed against the crossbar to keep the scores level.
Michael Townsend and Owen Story also had great chances but the sides went in level at the break.
Shaw Lane were nowhere near their leagueleading form throughout the game, and will be disappointed with their efforts in Leicestershire.
