■ DESPITE a strong start at Bell Close, Leighton Town fell away fast.
New signing Alie Bangura looked to be an instant success after scoring on 13 minutes. However, Welwyn slowly fought back with Dernell Wynter on 28 minutes to level things at the break.
City kicked off the second period with a goal straight away from Cyrus Babaie. If Leighton weren’t already reeling, then they would be on the hour mark as Welwyn made it three with Gucci Soulya-Osekanongo, a player enjoying a fine debut.
