JOSH March struck the only goal in first-half stoppage- time as Spalding United suffered a sixth successive defeat.
Second-placed Alvechurch took maximum points as March slotted home, punishing the Tulips for wasting a similar opportunity.
Just seven minutes earlier, Jenk Acar found himself with a clear sight of goal in the same position at the other end - but he missed the target.
