■ AFC TOTTON started the season with a convincing win over Barnstaple in front of a sun-drenched crowd at the Snows Stadium.
The Stags dominated the first half an hour, wasting several chances with Mitchell Byrne forcing a save from keeper Adam Seedhouse-Evans and Craig Feeney seeing a header deflected wide.
Just as the Stags seemed to be going off the boil, they took the lead through Jack Masterton five minutes before the break, then in added time at the end of the first half Byrne headed home powerfully from Masterton’s corner.
